1. Read the question again.2. Read through The Steps to Success again. What have you got to do to achieve the objective?3. Go through the work that you have already done, have you missed something out? Does something not look right4. Ask your neighbour, have they got the answer that you need?5. PUT IT ON YOUR CLASS'S LEARNING BLOG PAGE. YOUR MISTAKE OR PROBLEM WILL HELP EVERYONE LEARN SOMETHING NEW IN THE NEXT LESSON.
Learning is a community activity. We can all learn from each other. The mistakes we make, the things that did not turn out how we wanted them to turn out, are the perfect chances we have to learn something new. Only by trying, getting it wrong (which is NEVER a bad thing) and trying a different way the next time (and that can go wrong too) do we get better! It is the NOT trying a different way the next time that is a bad thing. You CAN do it!

How can I be more independent in tackling my problem?
Are you stuck? Have you come across something that is causing a problem, stopping you from doing what it is that you want to get done?
Rather than stop, put your hand and wait for teacher time, why not try these things first. If everybody stopped and waited for the teacher, then the queue of pupils needing help could get rather long and you could spend the whole lesson waiting. Following these tips might help. If they don't, I want you to post something in the blog. When you do, this could be the starter activity for the next lesson or a subject for some group work. This way all your classmates will learn something with you. You will help classmates who might have had the same problem or made the same mistake. You will be in charge of your own learning, like an Assistant Teacher!
